COSMA CLUB is a
student club that seeks to inspire undergraduate and graduate students for
productive careers in industry, academia and government by providing a platform
for learning and course research in the theory and applications of subjects
offered in the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences.
COSMA is an
abbreviation of all the courses offered in the School Mathematical and Computer
Sciences.
“C” for Computer Science
“O” for Operations
Research
“S” for Statistics
“M” for
Mathematics
“A” for Applied
Mathematics
COSMA is
intended to play a vital role in ensuring that the SMCS and UL in general will
adhere to the mission statement of the University that stipulates “A
world-class African university which responds to education, research and
community development needs through partnership and knowledge
generation-continuing a long tradition of empowerment.”
